    Description

    We are seeking applicants from a broad range of neuroscience subfieldsfor apostdoctoralteaching fellow in neuroscience and behavioralbiology. Thesuccessfulapplicantwillhaveteaching responsibilities, equivalent to four courses per year,whichinclude an introductory neuroscience course (Neuroethology) and co-teaching a lab in behavioral neuroscience, as well as topic courses in the candidate’s area of expertisedesigned for 1stand 2ndyear undergraduate students.Thefellow will receive structured mentoring and professional development to prepare for a full-time faculty position, receive training in inclusive pedagogy,support for research with undergraduate students and grantwriting, and have opportunities to engage in the academic, social, and cultural life of Oxford College.

     

    The goal of the postdoctoral teaching fellow program is tosupport the mentoring offellowsand equip them withpedagogicalskillsfor a full-time faculty position.Althoughthe advancement of a research program is notrequiredor expected,interestedfellowswillalsohave the opportunity tomentor undergraduate research students, collaborate on research projects withexistingfaculty,and/or conduct independent research.Logisticaland financial supportisavailable for these endeavors.

    Qualifications

    Required–ArecentPh.D. inneuroscienceora relateddiscipline. Thecandidate must have the degree awarded no later than August 2026.

     

    Desirable – Candidateswho wish to developinquiry-based teachingstrategiesand student-centered learning, including candidates who may have already completed a research postdoctoral fellowship.
