The College Connections Initiative (CCI) at the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center provides services to participants (non-traditional, adult learners and high school students) to increase their college readiness and access to post-secondary options. The Coordinator of CCI will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the initiative, facilitating college counseling to support assigned participants with the college application process and will implement service activities as outlined in the current CCI program plan.
Responsibilities include:
+ Developing innovative programs that promote college awareness, college application, and college enrollment.
+ Teaching the Pre-Freshman Seminar within the College Preparation Academy.
+ Providing direct assistance in completing college applications, application fee waivers, financial aid applications, and personal statements to both LIEOC students and the communities served by the LIEOC.
+ Serving as a liaison between CCI students and college administrators.
+ Organizing and leading college trips to local colleges of interest.
+ Building positive relationships with college admissions representatives.
+ Utilizing the National College Clearinghouse.
+ Participating in professional development activities geared toward assisting adult learners in obtaining college access.
+ Representing the LIEOC at college/job fairs and other access forums.
+ Participating in state and systemwide committees focused on improving college access.
The successful candidate will possess:

+ A commitment to the educational advancement to the targeted population of the LIEOC.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Public speaking skills.
+ The ability to analyze data and utilize results for program improvement.
+ A high level of professionalism.
+ The ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task.
This position may require the availability to work occasional evenings as needed to meet operational requirements.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ At least three years of experience with college access, college support, guidance counseling, or admissions counseling.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
+ Experience in adult or higher education.
+ At least three years of experience working in a SUNY or CUNY university, or other institution of higher education.
+ Experience using the National College Clearinghouse.
+ Experience with EOP, HEOP, SEEK or TRIO programs.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time UUP position.
+ For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, November 17, 2025, and ending Wednesday, November 26, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
+ CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled
+ SALARY: $57,151 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $61,151 Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
