In this role...

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the service tier between the Charger Data Platform and internal clients. Your services power low‑latency geospatial search and trusted access to station metadata, availability, pricing, and network details. You will ship Spring Boot microservices on Cloud Run, document APIs with OpenAPI, and use Apigee for access control and traffic management. While ingestion and storage are upstream, your team owns contracts, caching, resilience, and observability. You’ll partner with platform, SRE, security, and product to deliver governed, well‑documented APIs that meet strict SLOs. This is a backend role with occasional contributions to internal tooling and documentation.

What You'll Do...

+ Design, build, and operate Spring Boot APIs on Cloud Run behind Apigee for EV charging data.

+ Define API contracts and versioning; manage deprecations responsibly.

+ Implement core geospatial search and filtering for charging use cases.

+ Orchestrate upstream data APIs, expose freshness, and degrade gracefully.

+ Optimize latency and cost with caching and efficient response shaping.

+ Engineer resilience with timeouts, retries, and circuit breakers.

+ Own observability with Dynatrace and GCP; set SLOs and alerts.

+ Enforce strong authentication, service‑to‑service security, and least‑privilege access with auditability.

+ Drive CI/CD with automated testing and progressive delivery on Cloud Run.

+ Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform.

+ Collaborate with platform, SRE, and security on data contracts and governance.

+ Improve developer experience with clear docs, examples, and runbooks.

+ Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and make pragmatic trade‑offs.

+ Participate in on‑call and drive continual reliability improvements.

You'll Have...

+ Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

+ 7+ years professional software engineering

+ 5+ years Java, including 3+ years Spring Boot microservices

+ 3+ years designing and operating REST APIs (OpenAPI)

+ 3+ years on GCP with Cloud Run and Apigee, or equivalent

+ 3+ years supporting production applications

+ 2+ years implementing API security (OAuth2, mTLS, IAM)

+ 2+ years CI/CD with automated testing

Even better, you may have...

+ Master’s in Computer Science or related field

+ Experience with geospatial search and mapping

+ Experience creating infrastructure as code with Terraform

+ Knowledge of EV charging or mobility data at scale

+ Experience pairing on a daily basis

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
