What You'll Do

+ Perform advanced-level work to maintain physical structures, HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, utilities, and grounds in safe, reliable operating condition

+ Lead and direct maintenance technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks

+ Provide leadership support in the absence of the Plant Engineering manager or supervisor

+ Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of building systems and equipment

+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, electrical and fire codes, and Environment of Care standards

+ Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation

+ Deliver excellent customer service to team members and clinical departments

+ Participate in on-call for after-hours support

What We're Looking For

Education:

+ High School Diploma or GED required

+ Associate’s degree in HVAC, Mechanical, or related field OR a minimum of 2 years of documented, formal apprenticeship in plant operations/maintenance within a healthcare facility

Experience:

+ 10+ years of plant operations or general maintenance experience in a healthcare facility or similar environment (required)

+ Strong HVAC background (highly preferred)

+ Supervisory or lead experience (preferred)

Required Skills:

+ Ability to complete department-specific competency testing

+ Strong customer service and communication skills

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools used in facility maintenance

+ Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds

+ Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills:

+ Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC system design, operation, and repair

+ Familiarity with building, electrical, and fire codes, as well as Joint Commission Environment of Care standards

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
