Job Summary
The School of Language, Culture, & Society invites applications for a full-time, (1.00 FTE ), 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies ( WGSS ) Program with specialization in gender, health, and wellness.
We seek a scholar whose work critically engages with the intersections of gender, race, health, medicine and/or science, broadly defined and aligns with our University’s Strategic Plan:https://leadership.oregonstate.edu/strategic-plan/three-goals. We welcome applicants from a range of interdisciplinary and disciplinary backgrounds, with areas of specialization including but not limited to feminist science studies; gender and public health; feminist perspectives on science, technology, and society; BIPOC communities and health activism; feminist theories of embodiment; reproductive justice; trans studies; critical disability studies; mad studies; HIV / AIDS ; gender-based violence; environmental justice; and medical humanities. We seek a scholar-teacher whose work expands existing program strengths in subject matter and method.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of undergraduate teaching and will contribute to the core curriculum of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Queer Studies and in their areas of expertise. Our program is home to a vibrant Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies major, minor, and PhD program, including an online major as well as a minor in Queer Studies. The WGSS Program centers Women of Color, Transnational, and Queer/Trans Feminisms. This position will be expected to center these perspectives in all courses.Other duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of expertise as well as other courses across the WGSS curriculum, advising graduate students, conducting research and publishing, and doing service at all levels. We place importance on collegial interactions within the School of Language, Culture and Society (containing programs in Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and World Languages and Cultures).

What You Will Need
Required Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Feminist Studies, Queer Studies, or closely related field
+ Demonstrated record of or potential for scholarly achievement that aligns with the mission of an R1 research institution
+ Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level in WGSS or closely related field
+ Evident commitment to equity and inclusivity in teaching, scholarship, and/or service
+ Evident commitment to professional service
What We Would Like You to Have
+ Experience with undergraduate course development, for in-person or online delivery
+ Evidence of successful graduate-level teaching and advising
+ Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses in feminist science and health inequities
+ Potential for externally funded research
