    Summary:

    The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

     

    The Staffing Resource Office (SRO) offers 13–26-week assignments where you are assigned to one hospital in our system. Assignment placement is based on needs of the system.

     

    System Pool 13-week assignments-current assignments available at Mease Countryside Hospital, St Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, St Joseph's Women's Hospital, St Joseph's Hospital North and St Joseph's Hospital South and Winter Haven Hospital.

     

    Seasonal assignments are offered Oct-Feb to assist with our high census busy winter season.

     

    ELIGIBILITY FOR SEASONAL REQUIRES THAT YOUR PERMANANT RESIDENCE IS OUT OF STATE OR THAT YOU LIVE IN A COUNTY IN FL THAT HAS BEEN PRE-DETERMINED AS ELIGIBLE.

     

    MUST PROVIDE STATE I.D WITH RESIDENCE ADDRESS

     

    High School or Equivalent and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program and 1-year surgical technician experience OR High School or Equivalent and completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required:

    1-year surgical technology experience in hospital setting with NBSTSA certification; Or - 5 years' experience if no certification.

     

    High School or Equivalent

     

    Technical Diploma or Associates in Surgical Technology

     

    BLS (Basic Life Support)

     

    Required Skills also includes Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
