    Student Career Program Specialist, Experiential Learning and Career Services (HEOa)

    POSITION DETAILS

    The City University of New York Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (CUNY SPH) is committed to teaching, research and professional and community service to create a healthier New York City and to promoting equitable, efficient, and evidence-based solutions to pressing health problems facing cities around the world. Located in Central Harlem, CUNY SPH is the top-ranked public school of public health in the New York City, New York State and tristate region, and is among the top 10% of schools of public health nationally.

     

    This position will report to the Director of Experiential Learning and Career Services (OEL/OCS) at the CUNY School of Public Health.

    Campus-specific duties include:

    + Takes a lead role in the portfolio of ongoing programs and administers career development programs and services for the OEL and OCS.

    + Support the implementation of applied practice and workforce and professional development partnership and programming for the school’s new master’s degree in Sexual and Reproductive Justice and Health.

    + Consults with faculty, staff, administrators, and employers regarding student and alumni career development needs.

    + May assist in training and managing staff.

    + Assists in collection, tabulation and analysis of outcomes data for students, alumni, and other stakeholders, as well as research of employment and market trends.

    + Assists in policy development and strategic planning/special projects.

    + Represents Career Office on committees, conferences, and to the College community at large.

    + Conducts outreach programming, orienting employers and other constituents to services.

    + Builds fieldwork and employer partnerships and develops related tracking and management workflows.

    + Provides advising support to students and alumni related to career mapping, Handshake utilization, and related topics.

    + Manages select processes for online platforms such as Handshake.

    + Develops internal and public content, including social media communication.

    + Manages related communication with stakeholders.

    + Performs related duties as assigned.

     

    Annual reappointment contingent upon available funding.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree and four years related experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master's Degree in Public Health or related field.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    - Assists in developing and implementing career planning programs and services.

     

    - Takes a lead role in a portfolio of ongoing programs, such as orientation or workshop programs

     

    - May supervise a unit or program, hiring, training, and managing staff

     

    - Consults with faculty, staff, administrators, and employers regarding students career development needs

     

    - Assists in collection, tabulation and analysis of outcomes data for students and other stakeholders, as well as research of employment and market trends

     

    - Assists in policy development and strategic planning/special projects.

     

    - Serves as a liaison to student groups, clubs, and athletic organizations.

     

    - Represents career office on college committees, conferences, and to the College community at large

     

    - Conducts outreach programming, orienting employers and other constituents to services

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Salary range of $74,490 to $82,663
