As a Radiation Safety Assistant, you will supervise and perform various field activities related to the safe and compliant use of radioactive material and other sources of ionizing radiation.
A caregiver in this position works 7:30am to 4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Supervise the daily activities of Radiation Safety Technologists.
+ Assist ARSO, RSO, and MHPs in developing policies and procedures.
+ Receive, survey, inventory, deliver, and ship radioactive material to end users.
+ Perform audits of radiation laboratories, radiation surveys, bioassays and air sampling.
+ Perform radioactive waste collection, sampling, processing, monitoring and disposal.
+ Provide in-service training for users of ionizing radiation (staff and non-staff).
+ Provide training to Radiation Safety Technologists.
+ Provide radiation safety support for radiation therapy procedures and for clinical/research use of radioactive material and ionizing radiation.
+ Depending on department needs, obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) with hazmat endorsement.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Associate's degree in engineering, biological sciences or a related field.
+ Ohio driver's license (VDL) and able to obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carriers' requirements to operate CCF vehicles
+ Two years of experience in radiation safety or a related field including at least one year of experience performing radiation surveys and equipment testing and calibrations. An additional two years of progressively responsible experience may substitute the associate's degree requirement
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to wear Level A personal protective equipment.
+ Typical demands require full body motion including ability to lift to one hundred pounds and move up to four hundred pounds.
+ The ability to utilize material handling equipment and climb ladders.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
