    Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob Description

     

    The Construction Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects safely, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards, while also achieving customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure job safety by incorporating safety measures into job planning and execution, and promote accountability among staff and subcontractors for project safety policies.

    + Maintain quality control for both company and subcontractor work and address any repetitive quality issues by escalating them to upper management.

    + Develop and implement pre-job plans, make necessary adjustments, and create material handling and site utilization plans.

    + Participate in project scheduling to ensure alignment with job planning.

    + Complete specific tasks assigned during pre-job planning sessions.

    + Coordinate and supervise the company's workforce on the project, including hiring, firing, and indoctrination of laborers and craft persons.

    + Develop Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft persons.

    + Evaluate, develop, and retain personnel, including goal-setting, feedback, and performance evaluation.

    + Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors, holding weekly meetings with subcontractors’ Foremen.

    + Create forms for detailing and special construction methods to enhance job efficiency.

    + Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost records.

    + Analyze labor recaps and cost controls to identify areas needing attention and implement changes to align costs with the budget.

    + Expedite vendors and subcontractors daily and weekly.

    + Ensure that received materials are inspected for quantity and quality and that receiving tickets are signed, coded, and submitted correctly.

    + Review equipment needs with supervisors.

    + Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and ensure that the Owner and Owner’s Representatives are informed of schedule changes and potential conflicts.

    + Address special requirements of customers or neighbors to maintain satisfactory relations.

    + Maintain project logs.

    Essential Skills

    + Construction management

    + Subcontractor management

    + Project management

    + Experience with data centers

    + Knowledge of fiber optic and copper fiber systems

    + Experience with low voltage electrical systems

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 3 to 7 years of experience in electrical and low voltage systems

    + Supervision of communications systems installation

    + Supervision of outside/inside plant cabling installation

    + Supervision of structured cabling systems installation

    + PMP or BICSI - RTPM certification

    + BICISI Certified Cable Installer

    + RCDD – Registered Communications Distribution Designer

    + Experience as a Security Systems Integrator, Audio Visual Systems Integrator, and Communication Systems Integrator

    + Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business

    + Professional accreditations such as DBIA, LEED

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role will involve supporting a large Meta Data Center project, managing or overseeing the installation of low voltage building systems in a dynamic and expansive setting.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Montgomery, AL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
