Responsibilities
+ Utilize the tools of APQP (PPAP, FMEA’s, control plans, capability studies).
+ Review and approve Supplier PPAP packages, understanding Level 3 submission PPAP requirements.
+ Lead APQP and PPAP activities for internal and intra-company supplied parts including Component Risk Assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation.
+ Develop APQP plans for NPD programs.
+ Develop the Supplier APQP workbook, ensuring all critical stages are entered into the Supplier Advanced Quality database in SharePoint.
+ Regularly update the Supplier Advanced Quality Database in SharePoint with component APQP progress.
+ Partner with Engineering to define verification and validation test requirements ensuring appropriate objective evidence is available to support acceptance criteria.
+ Contribute to the completion of final design verification and design validation test reports by providing clear, concise conclusions with statistical validity and graphical support.
+ Track PPAP submissions and address interim statuses.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
+ Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
+ Familiarity with automotive OEM customer requirements and audit processes.
+ Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with a strong understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance.
+ Strong working knowledge of IATF standards.
+ Proven experience in Design for Manufacturability and process reliability/validation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
