    Job Summary:

    The **Repair Technician** is primarily responsible for performing repairs and evaluations on customer-owned products, along with other tasks as requested by the department supervisor or manager. This role requires clear knowledge of quality processes, specifically working within an **ISO 13485 and FDA regulated environment** .

     

    This position focuses heavily on repair functions as highlighted within the essential job functions. The role requires the ability to solve problems, handle multi-tasking, and exhibit strong time management skills in order to meet deadlines while maintaining compliance with all company policies and quality procedures.

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Repair, inspect, and conduct preventive maintenance of surgical systems and equipment.

    2. Create and provide customers with accurate quotations for product repairs.

    3. Complete thorough records of repairs and perform data entry for medical devices, strictly following the established Repair procedure.

    4. Perform inspections of repairs in the Returns area and follow applicable procedures (Repair, RGA, Complaints).

    5. Perform routine review of repairs to determine if a **complaint** should be generated and, whenever applicable, collaborate with the investigation team to determine the **root cause** of the complaint.

    6. Perform routine testing of medical devices to replicate reported device complaints and assist in determining the root cause.

    7. Review device master records, history records, and other quality-related documents for accuracy and completeness.

    8. Act as a liaison technical service professional, interacting with workshops, customer service providers, hospital operating room supervisors, nurses, doctors, purchasing, and biomedical technicians.

    9. Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, such as surgical tables and related devices, both in-house and, if necessary, at customer sites.

    10. Complete service forms for customer sites through company-established systems.

    11. Assist in coordinating and administering the flow of technical services for each service call.

    12. Follow up with customers, contracted field service, sales, and marketing personnel regarding part orders and technical information.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

    The position requires frequent walking and occasional ability to lift, handle, or push up to 50 pounds during the normal course of work. Within the Warehouse/Production floor, the employee may be exposed to sharp objects, small tools, and various testing equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    1. **Self-motivation** with a sense of task ownership to work and solve problems confidently, cross-functionally, collaboratively, and when necessary, independently.

    2. Ability to read common technical drawings and documents on mechanical and/or electrical devices.

    3. Technical experience, preferably in a **regulated environment** (FDA, ISO 13485, etc.), that includes engineering drawings and/or specification review experience.

    4. Ability to determine quick and efficient solutions to problems that may arise during inspection and/or repair activities.

    5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to people with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.

    6. Inspection and technical repair experience in the **medical device field is highly desired.**

    7. Some travel may be required.
