Job Summary
The BIM Coordinator/Specialist supports the BIM/VDC Director in model production, coordination, digital workflows, and BIM standards across MEP engineering projects. This role is hands-on and focused on high-quality modeling, support, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
BIM Execution & Model Management
+ Set up and manage Revit models for MEP engineering projects.
+ Support project teams with day-to-day Revit production tasks, model troubleshooting, and deliverable configuration.
+ Develop and maintain parametric families, content libraries, and project templates.
+ Integrate architectural/structural/civil models into MEP systems models and support coordination workflows.
+ Maintain and update project models throughout design phases in alignment with company and client standards.
Collaboration & Coordination
+ Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to resolve modeling and coordination challenges.
+ Collaborate with IT, software vendors, and internal staff to troubleshoot technical issues.
+ Participate in coordination and clash detection processes (Navisworks Manage).
+ Support and maintain cloud collaboration setups (ACC, BIM Collaborate Pro).
Training, Mentorship & Support
+ Provide one-on-one or small-group Revit training for staff.
+ Assist the BIM/VDC Director in developing training materials, documentation, and best practice guides.
+ Support and maintain consistent modeling practices across the office.
Quality Assurance & Data Management
+ Conduct routine model health checks and perform model clean-up.
+ Ensure adherence to BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), project standards, and QA procedures.
+ Track and document model issues, monitor documentation quality, and ensure deliverable readiness.
BIM Strategy & Standards
+ Help maintain firmwide BIM standards, content libraries, and templates.
+ Support adoption of new tools, techniques, and digital workflows identified by the BIM/VDC Director.
+ Provide feedback to improve modeling processes and project delivery consistency.
Requirements Qualifications:
+ 2+ years using Revit for MEP, architecture, or engineering projects.
+ Strong understanding of MEP systems and coordination workflows.
+ Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and Autodesk AEC tools.
+ Familiarity with BIM Collaborate Pro / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
+ Experience with Bluebeam Revu/Studio.
+ Excellent organization, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication skills; ability to explain modeling concepts to others.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in Drafting, BIM/CAD Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
+ Experience with digital twins, 4D/5D workflows, or model-based simulations.
+ Knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, Python, or C# for automation.
+ Exposure to AR/VR tools, reality capture workflows, or asset information management.
+ Experience with visualization tools like Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape, V-Ray, or D5 Render.
+ Familiarity with laser scanning equipment and point cloud workflows.
