    Job Description

    The Plumbing Mechanic will perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on piped utility systems and fixtures, as well as on the piping and connections of equipment. This role is conducted under general supervision, utilizing the tools and techniques of plumbing technology. We seek a mechanic with significant experience in the field, offering ample opportunities for growth.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on piped utility systems and fixtures.

    + Utilize a variety of tools and equipment normally used in the plumbing trade, including specialized equipment such as power augers and pipe threaders.

    + Employ powered bench and hand tools, such as drills, grinders, and compressed air tools, as well as non-powered hand tools.

    + Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions.

    + Work on commercial building projects, ensuring high standards of plumbing installations and repairs.

    Essential Skills

    + Journeyman Plumber certification preferred.

    + Experience in HVAC and facilities maintenance.

    + Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in plumbing systems.

    + Experience in commercial building plumbing tasks.

    + Ability to install and maintain mechanical and electrical systems related to plumbing.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma.

    + Experience working in commercial buildings.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a hospital shop on the 2nd shift, involving work in shop and mechanical area environments with exposure to dust, heat, cold, noise, and fumes. The position may require outdoor work with exposure to extreme temperatures and other weather conditions. The job involves working in confined spaces, awkward positions, and at heights up to 30 feet using ladders, lifts, and equipment. It also requires the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $34.64 - $37.32/hr.
