Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Paint and Seal Mechanic responsible for preparing assemblies for paint, seal bonding, touch-up, and part marking. This role involves the painting and sealing process, including surface preparation, masking, and chemicals handling. The position may also require limited duties of paint and sealant application according to international and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare surfaces to be painted or sealed using abrasives, solvents, and brushes as per working instructions.
+ Utilize appropriate technical references and tools to perform paint and sealing duties.
+ Interpret specifications and drawings to apply sealants and adhesives, ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements.
+ Perform smoothing, fairing, and solvent cleaning tasks.
+ Maintain supplies and equipment, including spray guns, air hoses, pumps, paper, and tape.
+ Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
+ Observe all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping rules and policies.
+ Clean and maintain all painting or sealing equipment.
+ Interpret specifications, color renderings, and instructions to plan sequences and time paint operations.
+ Work with hazardous materials such as seal, bond, epoxy, and solvents, and dispose of hazardous waste appropriately.
+ Utilize production work orders and documents, ensuring all documentation is complete and correct.
+ Mentor and assist in training student trainees.
+ Detect and report defective equipment, materials, and faulty operations to the supervisor.
+ Follow prescribed work rules and standard safety regulations at all times.
+ Promote and continuously improve company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with assembly, fabrication, sanding, and sealing.
+ Familiarity with safety procedures for chemicals handling.
+ Knowledge of blueprints and drawings.
+ Proficiency in using spray and cup guns.
+ Keen eye for color variations and discrepancies.
+ Understanding of proper use and maintenance of PPE, including dust masks, safety glasses, and gloves.
+ Ability to work on feet for up to 8 hours per day, including some overtime as needed.
+ Understanding of technical management and quality assurance procedures.
+ Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately.
+ Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection gauges.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ US Person Status due to export control.

Work Environment
Expect constant exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. The role involves frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 lbs, and requires standing and walking throughout the workday. Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes is expected. Eye protection is mandatory, with industry-standard safety equipment provided. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
