Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up and run a high-speed printing press or technical machinery. The focus is on implementing time-saving practices to minimize downtime and setup times, ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our customers.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate a high-speed printing press machine efficiently and safely.
+ Maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment while working safely.
+ Minimize scrap waste and ensure proper waste reporting by tagging and delivering scrap to the appropriate department.
+ Collect top and bottom sheets (dunnage) to expedite the converting process.
+ Adhere to lock out/tag out procedures for safety.
+ Complete production paperwork accurately, following reporting processes, including CTI/HRMS.
+ Assist in mounting die boards and machine setup while keeping the machine operational.
+ Read and comprehend production orders to ensure quality, including understanding basic corrugated terminology.
+ Understand the mechanical functionality of the machine and perform scheduled in-depth cleaning of the press.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years of high-speed machine operating experience.
+ Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler, and use basic shop math.
+ Capability to work in a high-speed packaging environment, including packaging and labeling.
+ Work with a sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
+ Comfortable with lifting up to 60 lbs. throughout the day.

Work Environment
Work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 550,000 square-foot facility with 26 dock doors. The facility is well-ventilated but not climate-controlled due to the manufacturing process. Candidates will be required to wear steel-toed boots, safety vests, glasses, and ear protection. Temporary hard hats are required due to ongoing construction. The spacious environment encourages walking and activity. The facility has two main work areas: the Converting Department and the Corrugating Department. Current openings are on the 3rd shift, with plans to expand to multiple shifts. Work shifts include 1st shift (5:45 am - 2:00 pm), 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm), and 3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am), with opportunities for 50-hour work weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
