Overview
As a Senior Product Owner, you'll be responsible for the definition, management, and execution of the product/project backlog for one or more Agile teams. You'll regularly be assigned to high-priority projects and will coordinate with program, business, and technology partners as you establish the backlog for those projects. The Senior Product Owner is a independent decision maker, but will work closely with Product Management to ensure execution of the backlog aligns with overall strategic direction. You'll collaborate with Product Management on the creation of new product/platform strategies as needed and research new opportunities to help drive organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
+ Defines, manages, and executes project backlog for assigned team(s). Evaluates and prioritizes backlog based on business value and return on investment (ROI).
+ With guidance from the Technical Product Manager II, leads the Product Management function for an assigned product or set of features within a product. Maintains product ownership and functions as a subject matter expert over a specific line of business or functional area. Identifies unmet needs that will lead to new product features.
+ Demonstrates understanding of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technologies can be leveraged to enhance products, processes and/or customer and user experience
+ Leads refinement of project backlog, collaborating with all resources assigned to team throughout SDLC. Provides direction to project team and approves all requirements and acceptance criteria prior to execution.
+ Coordinates with Product Management to translate high-level product/platform vision and strategy into actionable plans. Ensures execution of backlog aligns with overall strategic direction.
+ Collaborates with program, business, service, UX, technology, and sales/marketing partners to align project backlog and roadmap with overall company objectives.
+ Collaborates with internal customers to identify product/platform improvements, analyze user needs, identify project scope, and document features/high level functional requirements.
+ Collaborates with Product Management on the creation of key product/platform strategies. Identifies and researches new opportunities that increase sales/revenue, reduce operational expense, and/or drive internal/external productivity.
+ Communicates with internal stakeholders, including program, business, service, sales, and marketing partners to ensure cross-organizational readiness in advance of product/feature release.
+ Acts as overarching Product Owner on multi-team or multi-program efforts. Takes on stretch assignments, which may include additional teams, projects, developing analytic insights, etc.
+ Communicates status of project backlog to product management and other stakeholders as needed.
+ Mentors or coaches other Product Owners.
+ Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent. - Preferred
+ 5 years of experience in Paychex products/market and/or Product Management.
+ 8 years of experience in Product management or product experience and management experience - Required
+ Agile SDLC Product Owner certification - Preferred
+ AI Literacy – Familiarity with current and emerging AI technologies - Required
+ Salesforce Administrator Experience - Preferred
This role is hybrid. You are required to be in the office 3 days/week in one of our locations listed on the posting
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $91,300 - $143,4000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
