Job Title: Junior AccountantJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to join our GL accounting team. The ideal candidate will focus on accounts payable and receivable, perform journal entries, and assist the controller with month-end close tasks. This role also involves serving as a backup for payroll processing. The position is based in a long-term care facility, where interaction with patients and family members is expected.
Responsibilities
+ Process payments to outside vendors
+ Maintain general ledger postings
+ Manage petty cash fund
+ Interact with internal and external customers
+ Post deposits to the bank
+ Reconcile monthly billing
+ Manage supporting documentation for all transactions
+ Provide heavy and frequent customer service
+ Maintain spreadsheets for current cost analysis reviews
+ Support payroll accounting to ensure payroll processing
+ Address and resolve vendor inquiries
+ Perform deposits using remote capture deposit
+ Audit and create invoices
+ Assist with collection efforts as needed
+ Support the accounting team in various duties
Essential Skills
+ Strong math skills
+ Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
+ Experience using automated accounting systems
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
+ Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
+ Problem-solving and research abilities
+ Ability to work independently
+ High level of confidentiality
+ Dependable, self-starter
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred)
+ 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the long-term care industry
+ Working knowledge of Medical Health Insurance Benefits
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
The position is based in an office within a long-term care facility. The work involves using various accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. The environment is collaborative with a team-player atmosphere. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
