Job Title: Buyer

Job Description

The role involves planning and procurement of materials to support both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket sales. The Buyer will also support cost reduction measures, evaluate quotations for outsourcing, implement cost-saving strategies, and coordinate the disposition of rejected parts to prevent production stoppages.

Responsibilities

+ Plan and procure materials to support OE and Aftermarket sales.

+ Provide support for cost reduction measures.

+ Evaluate quotations for outsourcing work to assist estimating.

+ Implement cost-saving measures to establish the lowest end cost and acceptable quality.

+ Coordinate the disposition of rejected parts in a prompt and cost-effective manner to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime.

+ Track timelines and budgets to ensure a project remains on track.

+ Maintain supplier records and information for lead times, performance measures, and purchase orders.

+ Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.

+ Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes.

+ Purchase manufacturing aids for product lines.

+ Coordinate production planning and detailed scheduling with the manufacturing department.

+ Support new product development and automation initiatives.

+ Create and analyze reports as specified by management.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in production planning and buying.

+ Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems.

+ Strong negotiation and purchasing skills.

+ Ability to handle purchase orders efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Experience in purchasing and planning.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
