Job Title: Associate Scientist – Product Formulation
Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm
Type: Contract
Overview
The Associate Scientist will support product formulation development through hands-on laboratory experimentation, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role involves creating and evaluating prototype products, conducting performance and stability testing, and contributing to the commercialization of new consumer product innovations.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and perform laboratory experiments related to product formulation, validation, and performance testing
+ Develop experimental designs and work plans to create prototype products that meet performance requirements
+ Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and propose next steps in development plans
+ Collaborate with packaging, process development, and manufacturing teams during development and commercialization phases
+ Record and maintain detailed, accurate laboratory notes and experimental documentation
+ Plan and schedule project tasks, including laboratory testing, third-party evaluations, and consumer trials
+ Present data, progress, and results to project teams and management
+ Develop or modify test methods to solve technical problems and evaluate competitive products
+ Support lab demonstrations, training activities, and customer visits as needed
+ Maintain laboratory supplies, raw material inventories, and clean, safe work environments
+ Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and policies
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required, or Associate’s degree with relevant industrial experience
+ Relevant formulation experience in consumer packaged goods considered a strong advantage
+ Advanced understanding of detergent chemistry and related testing methods preferred
+ Experience performing a variety of research experiments and operating laboratory equipment
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database applications
+ Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
+ Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
