Job Title - SQL Developer

SQL Server developer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining databases using SQL Server, writing and optimizing queries, and ensuring data integrity and security. They also collaborate with other developers to integrate database solutions into applications and troubleshoot issues

Core responsibilities:

+ **Database development and maintenance:** Designing, creating, and maintaining database schemas, tables, and other objects.

+ **Query writing and optimization:** Writing, testing, and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for efficiency and performance.

+ **Data integrity and security:** Ensuring data accuracy, security, and integrity through validation, access controls, and backup/recovery procedures.

+ **Performance tuning:** Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks by fine-tuning queries, creating indexes, and analyzing server resources.

+ **Collaboration:** Working with software developers, analysts, and other teams to integrate database solutions into applications and meet business requirements.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering with 5-6 yrs of experience in SQL server development.

+ Strong proficiency in SQL and database concepts

+ Experience with database development tools and technologies like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.

+ Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization

+ Knowledge of database design principles

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Nov 19th 2025

The annual salary for this position is between $110- 115K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
