    General Summary:

    The Community Services Specialists coordinates, schedules and presents community education and outreach programs with a focus on multicultural initiatives, faith based institutions, high schools, colleges and nursing schools. Coordinates and manages the volunteer program. Plans and organizes special events and programs to meet the needs of our diverse state. Coordinate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities to support our public education and outreach efforts. Identifies and develops strategic and professional relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, volunteers and constituents. Maintains accurate records of contacts, presentations and follow-ups. Focused on increasing the donor registry. Must be available for weeknight and weekend events. Provides consultation in real time when significant issues arise. Responsible for timely compliance with all NJ Sharing Network programs and policies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:

    + Develops and coordinates presentations and programs for community education andoutreach with a focus on but not limited to faith based institutions, high schools, colleges andnursing schools. Uses discretion to determine the type of educational initiative needed foreach audience.

    + Develops, plans and executes educational events and programs for key donation national observances including but not limited to Minority Donor Awareness Month, Donate Life Month, and Donor Sabbath.

    + Provides oversight and management of the volunteer program including scheduling, coordination, record keeping, comprehensive recruitment, recognition plan and training of all volunteers.

    + Seeks and plans opportunities for public speaking to educate and motivate the public to register as organ and tissue donors. Responsible for public inquiry and media opportunities as assigned.

    + Identifies and develops strategic and professional relationships, partnerships, and potential educational initiatives with key constituents in diverse communities including hospitals, faith-based institutions, chambers of commerce etc.

    + Works collaboratively with leadership in our recruitment and education efforts to provide recommendations for recruiting qualified individuals with diverse backgrounds and/or ethnicities.

    + Coordinate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities to support our public education and outreach efforts. Remains up to date on current community health trends, specifically on healthcare, donation and transplantation in order to produce outreach initiatives for diverse audiences with the mission to enhance organ, eye and tissue donation.

    + Establishes and maintains positive and productive relationships with families, volunteers, stakeholders, community organizations and businesses.

    + Provides consultation in real time when significant issues arise. Identifies and resolves problems with families, volunteers, community etc. Evaluates and addresses the issues that arise by forming solutions as necessary in a timely manner.

    + Participates in department events and programs as directed.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Public Speaking experience is required.

    + Bilingual: Spanish preferred.

    Pay Range:

    Salary: $49,760.00 - $74,700.00

     

    This salary range is based on our market pay structures. Individual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to business needs, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, licenses, certifications, education, and experience.
