Job Title: School Aide
Pay Rate: Competitive | Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Setting: Special Education Classroom | High School
About the Role
Amergis is seeking a dedicated School Aide to work under the supervision of the Special Education Department and/or designated supervisor. This role involves providing instructional and behavioral support to students in a high school special education setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Support IEP objectives in areas such as math, reading, speech, independent skills, and behavior management.
+ Facilitate teacher-directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, and social games.
+ Assist students integrated into general education classes.
+ Communicate pertinent information to teachers and staff.
+ Supervise students during recess, lunch, and community experiences.
+ Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and classroom matters.
+ Assist with prescribed programs from related service providers (PT, OT, SLP).
+ Support students in developing independent skills (toileting, clothing routines, personal hygiene).
+ Implement behavior management techniques under teacher or specialist direction (BCBA, Psychologist).
+ Perform clerical tasks such as making copies, preparing materials, and maintaining classroom organization.
Minimum Requirements
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
+ Computer proficiency preferred.
+ Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Current certifications as applicable per state and/or client requirements.
Additional Details
+ Age Group: High School students.
+ Experience: Comfortable working with students with special needs.
+ Compliance: Amergis onboarding and credentialing required.
