The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
+ Bachelor's Degree, preferred
+ School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
+ One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
This position would begins as an FMLA Coverage assignment, and transition into a float health office nurse upon the nurse on leave's return. There are two separate boxes to explain the first and then second details of the assignment.

Medpass, prepping and starting tube feedings, tube dressing changes, transfers from wheelchair to mat and vice versa (there is a lift available for use). VNS Generator for epilepsy, diabetic care

8:30am-2pm Mon - Thurs
8:20-1:30pm on Friday

Float nurse is sub across the district (4 high schools) -- trained in each school with general high school health office support (managing diabetic care is the biggest need). Medpass, basic triage, charting, etc.
