Special Education Teacher | School-Based | Cedar Hill, TX | Full-Time | 32-Week Contract | $42/hr

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will deliver individualized instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff to support student success.

Position Overview

+ Location: Cedar Hill, TX

+ Start Date: December 1, 2025 (ASAP)

+ End Date: May 22, 2026

+ Duration: 32 weeks

+ Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday

+ Hours: 7:55 a.m. – 3:55 p.m.

+ Openings: 1 position available

+ Pay Rate: $42/hr

Responsibilities

+ Provide special instruction and tutorial assistance to students K–8

+ Deliver services in elementary life skills classrooms

+ Manage a caseload of approximately 22 students

+ Collaborate with general education staff to implement student programs

+ Work with classroom support staff (3 paraprofessionals)

+ Ensure compliance with professional standards and district requirements

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations

+ Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred

+ Certifications preferred: Standard Elementary, Secondary, and Special Teaching

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Current CPR certification, if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
