We are seeking a _Sr. Instructional Design Manager_ who will serve as a divisional subject matter expert with impact on strategic direction and planning for complex learning development. This role leads Training & Development Instructional Design work with focus on developing training curriculum and materials for the general workforce and targeted functional/technical areas.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Ownership of short to mid-term (one to three years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department.
+ Serve as a member of the divisional leadership team, responsible for strategic planning and direction related to academic planning and learning development.
+ Manage complex issues that may require extensive investigation and analysis.
+ Analyze employee learning needs and partner with subject matter experts and business management to provide input for course content.
+ Plan and coordinate skills assessments and training.
+ Provide instruction and guidance to trainers.
+ Facilitate training during introduction of new courses.
+ Develop and monitor metrics for evaluating training and development effectiveness.
+ Design computer-based training programs.
+ Select and/or oversee vendors to develop training content or conduct training.
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Serve as divisional subject matter expert on lecture- and laboratory- based pedagogy and discipline-specific instructional technologies, representing the department in cross-divisional teaching and learning initiatives.
+ Oversee the integration of advanced, and authentic, discipline specific technologies, instrumentation, and digital tools into laboratory instruction and instructional design projects.
+ Assess and analyze student learning outcomes in laboratory courses, using results to drive continuous pedagogical innovation, shape divisional initiatives, and improve instructional efficacy.
+ Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of pedagogy for discipline courses that incorporate experimental learning, ensuring alignment with evolving best practices and institutional goals.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree in a related field.
+ Seven years of related experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ PhD in a specific discipline of the field.
+ Experience with academic course design, project management, and Storyline or other course authoring tools.
+ Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches
+ Ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
