    The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring a Director of Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Quality to join our System Office’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) department. We’re looking for someone who possesses a love of CTE and CTSOs and has a background in CTE Student organization or non-profit management.     As the Director of CTSO Quality, you will serve as the convener and coordinator of the CTSO State Advisor/Assistant Program Director team and related CTE Program Director team members at CCCS, fostering alignment through shared events, projects, and initiatives that enhance opportunities for learners and advisors across Colorado. The Director supports state CTSO leadership in strengthening organizational capacity, including in areas such as volunteer engagement, partnership development, and resource coordination, while also assisting with financial and data management practices. Additionally, you will contribute to the administration of federal grant funds for CTE leadership, ensuring activities align with statewide goals for student leadership development. This position supervises the CTE Accounting Technician.

     

    + Serve as a collaborative partner to State Advisors, providing support aligned with organizational priorities such as cultivating partnerships, coordinating shared initiatives, and engaging volunteers to strengthen events and activities.

    + Ensure equitable support across alleight Colorado CTSOs (https://coloradostateplan.com/educator/career-and-technical-student-organizations/) , tailored to each organization’s requests and priorities.

    + Lead development of shared partnership evaluation tools and shared sponsorship development initiatives to support strategic plan objectives for transformational partnerships.

    + Establish and maintain common accounting procedures and financial management practices where appropriate to ensure sufficient internal controls over student dollar accounts. Make recommendations to support CTSO health and fiduciary responsibilities.

    + Assist with the procurement and review of grant applications and data submissions to confirm alignment with Colorado CTE goals for student leadership development.

    + Work in partnership with the Director for CTE Program Quality to strengthen the leadership components of high-quality CTE programs across Colorado. For example, lead recognition activities honoring high-quality CTE programs, CTSO engagement, industry sponsors of work-based learning activities, and more.

    + Convene monthly team meetings of the CTSO State Advisor/Assistant Program Director team, facilitating strategic collaboration, shared goal setting, and aligned initiatives.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

     

    + Bachelor’s degree. An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree.

    + Minimum three years of experience in program leadership with administrative and leadership responsibilities in CTE and Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), preferably at the state, regional, or system level.

     

    Supplemental Information

    Attributes that will contribute to success in this position:

    + Strong understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), including their role in student leadership development.

    + Demonstrated success with organizational management or leadership.

    + Effectively manage personnel dynamics by fostering open communication, promoting inclusivity, and resolving conflicts constructively to maintain a positive public image and enhance team collaboration.

    + Skilled in facilitating meetings, fostering strategic collaboration, and capturing and sharing best practices.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

    + Strong communication skills in person, virtually, and in writing, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences (students, advisors, educators, industry partners).

    + High familiarity with management, conference or event planning, and program approval for CTE programs.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.

    + Strong knowledge of QuickBooks or equivalent budgeting software.

    + Successfully managed and analyzed budgets, leveraging financial data to drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

    + General understanding of non-profit management and regulatory requirements (i.e. 1099s, donations, etc.).

    + Knowledge of contract negotiation, event management, and partnership acquisition.

    + Ability to anticipate challenges, problem-solve, and adapt to evolving needs.

    + Competence in using virtual platforms and digital tools, including accessibility and social media, to support communication and engagement.

    Work Location/Travel Expectations:

    + This position is located at CCCS System Office: 9101 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, CO 80230.

    + Employee will be required to travel to in-state conferences including regional meetings and State Conferences. Employee may be required to stay overnight at a hotel during these conferences. Employee may be asked to assist at off-site state conferences for other Career and Technical Student Organizations.

    + Employee may be requested to travel out of state to national conferences or meetings.

    + Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
