    Summary: This position reports directly to the Ponds and Harvest Operation Manager and is Responsible for improving the efficiency and reliability of pond and harvest systems. Leads design and implementation of new equipment, including preliminary designs, specifications, and cost estimates.

    + Develop and execute strategic plans to improve production output and operational efficiency, and productivity improvements

    + Learn and understand the pond and harvest system, its needs and requirements for plant processing equipment, practices, and chemical purification/separation to understand how projects will impact the site-wide business.

    + Monitor and analyze incoming brine composition to predict mineral yield and adjust pond sequencing and evaporation strategies based on seasonal and chemical variability."

    + Oversee daily production activities, coordinating targets with plant and field teams while optimizing feed to the plant, and brine chemistry to maximize yield.

    + Oversee evaporation pond layout, flow control, and maintenance while monitoring environmental and chemical factors to guide operations."

    + Drive process optimization, partnering with engineers to improve ore deposits and recovery steps, and leading initiatives to enhance recovery and reduce losses.

    + Leads resources to perform engineering and construction management of ponds projects, as directed by the Ponds Operations Manager

    + Updates or creates maintenance/production operating instructions, equipment records, O&M manuals and procedures.

    + Enforces proactive environmental, health, and safety processes in compliance with company policies and documented procedures. Ensures compliance with all company standards, practices, and procedures

    + Apply technical skills in areas such as crushing, conveying, pumps, hydraulics, vibration diagnostics, and equipment maintenance

    + Perform other related duties as required.

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    + Strong background in mineral processing or chemical engineering

    + Proficiency in data modeling, GIS, and process control systems.

    + Experience in process development of existing and/or emerging technologies.

    + Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    + Highly motivated, self-driven and customer focused.

    + Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively across multiple organizations.

    Education and/or Experience:

    + BS or MS in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering preferred

    + 4–6+ years in industrial mining or plant processing

    + Experience in production and processing operations

    + Knowledge of hydrometallurgy, crystallization, solids handling, crushing, grinding, and conveying

    + Proficient in material and energy balance calculations

    + Familiarity with instrumentation, automation, and control systems

    + Experience with pumps, piping, and hydraulics a plus

    + Inorganic manufacturing experience preferred
