Responsibilities:
+ Supports decommissioning and qualification protocols. Supports engineering tests. Evaluates, interprets engineering results and carries out the analysis of statistical data. Prepares the CO's approval process. Supports the team Engineer in the certification and startup of new machinery or equipment.
+ Helps solve manufacturing problems by applying engineering concepts or technical concepts to maximize equipment effectiveness, capacity and quality. Evaluates and interprets new ideas to improve the process. Identifies faults and repairs equipment. Documents modifications and programming changes according to Good Manufacturing Practices
+ Reviews and updates the procedures for current and future processes. Supports training to production personnel on procedural changes, updates or new procedures. Prepares visual aids for production needs.
+ Participates in the design plan or design changes and identifies the process requirements to accommodate new engineering projects and initiatives. Supports IQ / OQ processes and program installations.
+ Supports special engineering projects as required, for example, analysis of weather studies, balances in production lines, reduction of documentation, 5S, Kaizen, reduction of time cycle, design of accessories, special requests for research and development etc.
+ Revise technical drawings for products and updates according to the requirements.
+ Supports the preventive maintenance and spare maintenance programs following Asset Management Tool.
+ Supports in the installation and testing maintenance equipment, ensuring they are operational.
+ Suggests, designs and installs equipment modifications to increase reliability.
+ Understands existing processes, tooling setup and machine programs to support tasks associated with process validation (Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification, Performance Qualification, Computer Software Validation and Test Method Validation) and engineering studies including setting process parameters and defining fixtures.
+ Identifies and assists in process improvements for existing manufacturing processes utilizing appropriate engineering principles and standard strategies as e.g. Lean and Six Sigma principles, Asset Management Tools.
+ Supports tasks related to new equipment acquisition efforts including user requirement specifications, machine selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as required. Validation daily-Revalidation, Capacity exchange, (One-to-one machine replacement)
+ Small improvement projects / Safety improvements activities.
+ Participates in designed experiments and capability studies as support staff, collects and maintains documents, and records process specifications.
+ Participates in cross-functional teams which may include, but are not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, and personnel from other sites and external resources.
+ Assures adherence to all company safety policies and procedures and other safety precautions within the work area.
+ Participates in and understands compliance related activities pertaining to the job assignment including compliance with the Quality System Regulation (QSR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and applicable Work Instructions.
+ Acts as a model for the operators in terms of attitude, running machines, following processes, and decision making.
+ Supports in the development of protocols and reports.
+ Performs other related duties, as required.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor Degree is required. Bachelor Degree in Engineering is preferred.
+ Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience is required.
+ Experience in the critical medical device industrial environment or pharmaceutical, working with control systems, manufacturing equipment, etc. is required.
+ Knowledge in computerized systems. Demonstrates strong computer skills, such as the use of Microsoft Office and Minitab, preferred.
+ Basic knowledge of installation of programs and concepts of mechanics and electronics is preferred.
+ Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish is required.
+ Demonstrates working knowledge of SAP and Maximo, is preferred.
