    The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the safe operation and maintenance of landside equipment within our shipyard and warehouse locations. As a skilled mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and low-voltage electrical. This role requires strong technical skills and excellent organizational abilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform skilled maintenance, repair, and installation on mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and low-voltage electrical

    + Troubleshoot and complete repairs on various equipment, often requiring physical strength, specialized tool use, and interpretation of technical documents

    + Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in a safe, operational, and efficient condition

    + Work independently, but under the direction of the Facilities Manager, with minimal supervision

    + Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities for every piece of equipment

    + Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other equipment as required

    + Assist with planned plant outages, after-hours and weekend events, and respond to emergencies as needed

    + Collaborate with the Facilities Department on Naval ships mooring and berthing requirements, including dry-docking evolutions

    + Possess and maintain all necessary BAE safety and environmental certifications

    + Starts, regulates, repairs, and shuts down equipment as necessary or required per LOTO procedures / regulations.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Journeyperson mechanic experience with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems maintenance

    + High School Diploma, GED or Trade School

    + Ability to work at heights greater than 50 ft and perform tasks requiring physical strength and specialized tool use

    + Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret equipment blueprints, schematic drawings, and machinery maintenance tasks

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to maintain accurate records and logs

    + Ability to work swing shifts, weekend shifts, and overtime as required

    + Possess and maintain all necessary safety certifications and knowledge of safe rigging practices

    + Ability to work ovewater projects

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $59800 - $91645

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
