As a **Principal LAN Switch Administrator** , you'll play a critical role in providing exceptional IT support to the customer. As a Principal LAN Switch Administrator, you'll maintain the inventory and status of LAN switch assets, including IOS configurations and spare equipment. You'll develop prioritized lists for LAN service restoration, assess impact, dependencies, and recovery timelines to minimize downtime during outages or incidents. You'll also develop and maintain physical and logical diagrams of network systems using tools like Visio or Lucidchart.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
+ 10 years of experience in LAN switch administration, with hands-on expertise maintaining inventories, IOS configurations, and spare equipment in government or large enterprise networks
+ Proven track record developing prioritized restoration lists, network diagrams, and SOPs for operational efficiency and compliance
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
+ Strong knowledge of federal network standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, DISA guidelines) and ITIL practices for service configuration and operations
+ Proficiency in Cisco IOS, network diagramming tools, and inventory management systems (e.g., SolarWinds, NetBox)
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills for documentation and team collaboration
+ Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness

+ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
+ Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center certification
+ Experience supporting DoD or large federal LAN environments, including hybrid cloud integrations and rapid restoration planning
+ ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with focus on service asset and configuration management
+ Background in automation scripting (e.g., Python for config backups) and tools for network visualization
+ Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network )
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
