Job Description
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
At BAE s Westminster Colorado location, we develop and manufacture state of the art RF & sensor technologies that are integrated onto tactical missile and aircraft platforms. This is an incredible opportunity for a student, preferably with an Industrial Engineering degree focused on Manufacturing and Systems, to support the production of advanced RF products. Additionally, this role serves as the jumping off point to other exciting career opportunities at BAE Systems, Inc. which includes Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Operations, Operations Management, or Value Stream Manager just to name a few!
This is a challenging and dynamic role responsible for manufacturing planning and production, material availability, material and product flow, bottleneck resolution, as well as improvement efforts that drive our operational strategy. This opportunity requires a result driven individual with strong organizational skills, ability to thrive in a team environment, and a passion for continuous improvement.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
What You ll Do:
+ Effectively work in a cross-functional team environment.
+ Learn and gain competence in using manufacturing system tools and systems.
+ Maintain an intense focus and continuous presence with team members performing value enabling work and how team members interact with manufacturing data systems.
+ Conduct various analysis of data from manufacturing systems to draw conclusions about ongoing manufacturing activities to enable successful program execution.
+ Evaluate process improvements for operations (labor balancing, picking, kitting, packing and loading, line-side storage setup, and product sequencing) to minimize downtime and rework, incorporating data from manufacturing systems.
+ Develop and implement systems and improvement strategies using data from manufacturing systems for direct material flow (in plant transport, inventory staging/access, and assembly line supply) including bottleneck resolution.
+ Design and implement user interfaces (UI), application programming interfaces (API), and backend code for new manufacturing tools and systems.
+ Document requirements for new software, create user guides, document manufacturing systems, and provide training to manufacturing team members.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
+ May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
+ May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
**Hourly Rate:** $26.00 - $35.00
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2026. We will also accept students enrolled in a graduate degree program.
+ Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ Industrial Engineering or related field.
+ Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, SQLite, MS Access) and structured query language (SQL).
+ Experience with R, Python, Matlab, C#, or other programming languages.
+ Experience with data analysis and statistics (measures of central tendency, dispersion, outliers, confidence intervals, etc.) using programming languages or software tools (Minitab, JMP).
+ Experience with user interface (UI) design and data visualization (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/d3).
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a team environment.
+ A creative approach to problem solving and an appetite for experimentation.
+ A problem-solving endurance that persists in the wake of initial setbacks.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $54080.000 - $72800.000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
