As a **Principal Database Administrator** , you'll play a critical role in supporting database operations for a large government enterprise contract, serving the customer. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive database support and administration, incorporating changes and updates, maintaining configurations, and developing documentation to ensure reliable, secure data management. Aligned with federal standards like NIST, FISMA, and ITIL 4 practices, you'll optimize database performance, enforce compliance, and facilitate seamless integrations to sustain mission-critical applications in regulated environments.
As a senior database administrator, you'll be responsible for providing database support and administration for enterprise systems, including query optimization, backup/recovery, and user access management to ensure high availability and data integrity. You'll incorporate changes and updates to databases, maintain database configurations, and develop documentation, contributing to knowledge bases and audit readiness for operational handovers. Your expertise will help drive seamless integration, compliance, and secure data management.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including the development of database solutions that support mission-critical initiatives. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to integrate databases with applications, perform capacity planning, and resolve incidents through root cause analysis. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
+ 6 years of experience in database support and administration, with hands-on expertise incorporating changes/updates, maintaining configurations, and developing documentation in government or large enterprise environments
+ Proven track record managing relational/non-relational databases in secure, high-availability settings
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
+ Strong knowledge of federal database standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations
+ Proficiency in database tools (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and documentation practices
+ Excellent analytical and communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration

+ ITIL 4 Foundation certification
+ Experience supporting DoD or large federal databases, including integrations with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow
+ Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
+ Background in agile documentation (e.g., Confluence) and automation for updates (e.g., PowerShell scripting)
+ Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security )
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
