    Job Description

    For $71/hr, Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join one of our largest financial clients in New York City supporting the Markets FICC Electronic Trading Team. This Americas ETS Support team is responsible for providing end-to-end support to all applications used by Sales, Trading and their support services in the FICC Electronic Trading business. The team supports a fast growing electronic business operating in true partnership with their Front Office stakeholders and traders. The role is high profile as it has a direct impact on the firm’s revenue generating abilities. On a day-to-day basis, individuals will be intaking service requests from Front Office servicing their suite of applications. They will be responsible for the monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments, performing application health checks to assure system availability and stability, user querying and production incident handling, triage, and hands-on trouble-shooting of Python and based applications. They will resolve any performance issues per criticality, capacity management and production release process management. All of these processes should be properly documented and communicated effectively. Ideally, this person is proactive in their identification and resolution of problem hotspots and has the creativity and high-energy required to effectively coordinate restoration efforts for this high-impact space.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 7-10 years of experience providing Production/Application Electronic trading application support

    • Electronic Trading support background- vendor connections between external and internal (how the business works)

    • Work experience in a Linux/Unix environment (know the commands, file and directory mgnt)

    • SQL experience- query a database

    • mix off from scratch and a run book

    • Experience with Python based applications

    • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or ITRS

     

    Strong communication skills, ability to work with internal Front Office personnel and 3rd party vendors • Experience scripting with Shell and Python for automation and scripting tasks (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, etc...)

     

    Exposure to Market Data Technologies such as Tibco RV, Reuters, RMDS
