The role you'll contribute:
The Lead Technologist performs at a technical level a variety of cardiovascular procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. Utilizes independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Lead utilizes proficiency in all aspects of his/her designated procedural area in preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Department and Hospital administration. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required. Participates in the Advent Health performance improvement program. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
A four-week notice is required for resignation/transfer, as well as any change in employment status resulting in decreased hours worked. Takes call after hours as designated.

Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade clinical and leadership skills. Seeks education opportunities, and coaches staff towards professional growth. Maintains familiarity with new procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. Maintains and promotes a positive attitude; self motivation; mutual respect toward patients, physicians, and fellow team members; ability to lead as part of a team; possesses or obtains an advanced skill set while keeping current with emerging trends, educates, and shares knowledge with team members within the department to increase independence.
Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Contributes and encourages others to contribute toward process improvement by serving on PI teams as assigned. Participates in department Gallup and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Utilizes knowledge of the levels of growth, development and skills for all patients that enter department.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Basic EKG knowledge
Ability to function independently with little or no supervision
Ability to read, write legibly and perform basic mathematics skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Proficient in all competency skills for the modality area assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of experience in the modality assigned to lead

One year of supervisory experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Echocardiography-Adult
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Adult Echocardiography (AE) or
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
OR
Vascular Ultrasound
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or
Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)

Echocardiography-Pediatric
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) or
