Description

Entry-level machinist responsible for safe operation of CNC vertical and/or horizontal mills under close supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Load/unload parts into CNC milling machines using proper fixtures and clamps.

+ Follow basic setup instructions provided by lead machinist or setup sheets.

+ Run production jobs, monitor cycle times, and report issues.

+ Use basic measuring tools (calipers, depth mics, height gauges) to verify in-process part features.

+ Clean machine, remove chips, and perform minor maintenance tasks (lubrication, fluid checks).

+ Follow work instructions, job travelers, and safety protocols. Requirements:

Position Requirements

+ High School Diploma

+ Experience: 0–2 years in CNC machining or technical school graduate

+ Ability to read simple mechanical blueprints.

+ Familiarity with basic machine control panel operations (start, stop, feed hold).

+ Understands basic shop math and measuring systems (inch).

+ Basic understanding of milling operations (face milling, drilling, pocketing).
