    The System Director Strategic Comms & Consumer Engagement leads the vision, strategy, and execution of PeaceHealth's enterprise communications and digital engagement functions. This role unites strategic communications, brand storytelling, and consumer digital innovation to elevate PeaceHealth's reputation, deepen caregiver engagement, grow market share, and strengthen connections with consumers and communities across all channels. Serving as a key strategic partner to senior executives, this leader drives enterprise-wide communications and consumer engagement strategies that advance organizational priorities, safeguard the brand, and bring the PeaceHealth Mission and promise of treating each person in a loving and caring way to life. The position ensures alignment between system-wide caregiver communications, consumer marketing, community/network communications and digital experiences through data-informed planning, performance measurement, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Develops and leads PeaceHealth’s strategic communications plan to engage caregivers, strengthen internal culture, and advance organizational priorities.

    2. Defines communication goals and success metrics that support enterprise strategy and mission alignment.

    3. Counsels senior leaders on high-stakes, sensitive and reputational issues, ensuring timely, transparent, and Mission-centered messaging.

    4. Assesses and develops a high-performing team of communicators focused on nimble output, quality content production and a fluid service philosophy.

    5. Serves as a trusted partner to IT to support digital initiatives and communications aligned with the development of PeaceHealth’s emerging digital front door.

    6. Oversees integrated communications planning and execution across internal and caregiver communications, ensuring clarity, alignment and impact.

    7. Collects, analyzes and reports on data to evaluate the effectiveness of communication channels and strategies, using insights and new tools to drive continuous improvement.

    8. Provides strategic leadership and best practices to all communities/networks for implementing a One PeaceHealth approach to communications and consumer engagement.

    9. Leads PeaceHealth’s digital marketing and engagement strategy, driving innovation across owned, earned and paid digital channels, across all communities/networks.

    10. Translates market data, consumer insights, and emerging technology trends into actionable strategies that enhance digital brand storytelling, reach, conversion, competitive position and market share.

    11. Oversees consumer digital campaigns, product, and platform strategy and performance, ensuring alignment with IT and system goals for growth, awareness and experience.

    12. Partners with IT, service lines and operations to integrate digital strategy and marketing automation/technology into enterprise initiatives.

    13. Builds and maintains program dashboards and reporting to monitor performance and optimize PeaceHealth’s digital footprint, consumer experience and strategic communications.

    14. Promotes collaboration and creativity among marketing, all network/community communications, and creative teams to deliver consistent and emotionally resonant content.

    15. Leads, inspires, and develops a high-performing team of communicators, strategists and digital marketers.

    16. Establishes a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion and excellence.

    17. Manages departmental budgets, resources and vendor relationships to achieve operational efficiency and impact.

    18. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations and maintains readiness for survey or audit standards.

    19. Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor's Degree required: Communications, Marketing, Digital Media or related field

    + Master's Degree preferred: MHA or MBA

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    + Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience across communications, marketing, and digital engagement in a healthcare or health technology organization.

    + Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in complex or matrixed organizations.

    + Proven experience developing and executing data-driven communications and digital strategies that support business and cultural transformation.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    + Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

    + Ability to synthesize complex information and make timely, effective decisions.

    + Deep understanding of audience segmentation, consumer behavior, and digital experience design.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.

    + Proficiency in digital marketing analytics, communication measurement tools, and performance reporting.

    + High integrity, sound judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive information

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

     

    _The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is_ **_$181,995 – $236,908_** _. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, seniority, etc._
