The purpose of this internship is to prepare students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide students with experiences that provide insights into a career with Zebra. Students will be positioned for success with training and hands-on experiences, invited to social and development activities, and provided a professional mentor relationship.

The Software Engineering Tools and Process (SETP) team is responsible for several tools that enable Zebra engineers to optimally produce products for Zebra. As part of our charter we are enhancing these tools with AI to enable teams to do their work more efficiently.

Responsibilities:

+ Contribute to assigned project and enhance AI based skillset

+ Work with the other developers in the team to design AI algorithms, create dataset and models

+ Follow best practices and development guidance and document work

+ Present incremental progress to management

+ Finalize overall project outcome and present to larger audience across Zebra

+ Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills

+ Increase technology knowledge and skills, especially as it relates to Zebra’s product portfolio

+ Manage team-based work assignments

+ Practice interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow-up activities

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP LOCATED IN HOLTSVILLE, NY. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science or Data Science (Specialization in Artificial Intelligence preferred)

+ Must have an anticipated graduation date between May 2026 - 2027

+ Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C+

+ + Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

+ Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and tools

+ Good written and verbal communication skills to document processes and collaborate with team members effectively

+ Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently

+ A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and methodologies related to AI and software development

+ Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow

+ Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary: USD 29.00 - USD 35.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.

Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
