The **Manager, General Ledger Cash** , supervises a team of 2-3 accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of cash related activities including Withdrawal Certificate, bank reconciliation, daily cash postings, etc.
The Manager, General Ledger Cash, collaborates closely with various Accounting and Finance teams, assist in ad hoc projects, provides guidance to Cash team, continuously work to improve the efficiency of the accounting and reporting processes.
Role Responsibilities:
+ Ensure an accurate and timely cash postings for all RWE Americas companies
+ Overview month end close cash activities, including preparing/reviewing standard and miscellaneous cash journal entries, account reconciliation, etc
+ Review and approve intercompany transactions, treasury postings, and recurring accounting entries
+ Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the cash postings in SAP
+ Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine cash transactions
+ Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
+ Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase automation and reduce cycle time. Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner
+ Support special projects, as appropriate
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies; support internal control documentation and testing
+ Serve as point of contact for external auditors during treasury audit cycles
+ Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase automation and reduce cycle time
+ Coordinate with Treasury, AP, and FP&A to align accounting with operational and financial strategies
+ Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner
+ Develop team capabilities through performance management, coaching, and career development
+ Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Hiring, training and supervision of accounting staff
Job Requirements and Experiences:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
+ CPA license preferred
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant work in the energy industry or related field, including at least 2 years of managing direct reports
+ Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP
+ Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
+ Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
+ Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
+ Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
+ Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
+ Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
+ Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
+ Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
+ Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
+ Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

**Pay range:** The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $109,000 - $150,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
