Join our innovative engineering team in Mentor, Ohio. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aerospace engineering and contribute to cutting-edge projects. You will have the chance to work across cross-functional groups, enhancing your learning and professional development.
Functional Tracks:
Materials:
• Improve digital imaging efficiencies, metallographic preparation, and procedure documentation.
• Research material properties and sources of supply.
• Issue purchase requisitions as required.
• Support Research and Development projects.
Analysis:
• Support advanced analysis projects, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Assist in developing and validating simulation models to predict performance under various operating conditions.
• Work closely with engineering in the design and R&D teams to provide insight and recommendations based on analysis results, contributing to design improvements.
• Analyze data from simulations and tests to validate results and identify key trends or behaviors.
Configuration Management:
• Support program concept design, analysis, verification, or other aspects of the product lifecycle.
• Assist in developing detailed product specifications within the upgrade of the PLM system.
• Ensures conformance to product qualification procedures and parameters to achieve customer and product reliability and safety standards.
Thermal Management Systems:
• Support program concept design, analysis, verification, or other aspects of the product life cycle.
• Assist in developing detailed product specifications by analyzing performance and customer requirements.
• Perform feasibility and trade studies applying standard analytical methods; recommends solutions which are defined and reviewed for implementation.
• Review test results for accuracy and precision.
Combustion:
• Actively acquires on the job training and knowledge of specialized technical or engineering principles and techniques required for Parker's products.
• Performs a variety of routine technical assignments to provide experience and familiarization with the technical or engineering staff methods practices and programs of the company.
• Assists senior level team members to accomplish their project assignments by completing specific analysis or well- defined portions of the overall assignment. Learns project management techniques and participates in design or similar program reviews.
Engineering Test Lab:
• Support in electronics, data acquisition, hydraulics, and engineering testing of products and new designs.
• Develop, design, and update engineering equipment and cells.
• Work closely with experienced engineers using hands-on skills to enhance lab capabilities and contribute to innovative aerospace testing projects.
• Assist in a variety of projects including fabrication, instrumentation, and Python programming.
Qualifications:
• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or another closely related field.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on learning and improvement.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with some software tools such as ANSYS, CREO, LabVIEW, or MATLAB is a plus (functional track dependent)
• Availability: Must be available for at least 40 hours a week during summer 2026.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
