Position Summary:
Reports to the Technical Lead or Team Leader to receive work instructions. Is responsible for Operation of Extruder, Operation of Barwells, Warm-up Mill Operations, General Preforming and Mixing of 4910 for Ovals pertaining to scheduled production needs. Quality focus on product being prepped for manufacturing operations and proper documentation of required production paperwork / preparation tickets. Initiates work repair orders in the event of mechanical failure. Makes recommendations to Tech Lead concerning dept changes and schedules.
Scope/Supervision & Interaction: Does not have direct reports.
Position Responsibilities:
• Preform raw material to support manufacturing operations.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to their Dept.Technical Lead or Team Leader.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, mixing, Weight Adjustment, Scale Verification, Measuring, Die Selection and all barwell, Vibracool and warm-up mill operations.
• Must be familiar with all machines required to perform the tasks stated above.
• Must be able to perform basic set-ups on these machines and tools that are used in them.
• Maintain production documentation.
• Maintain 5s duties.
• Communicate with incoming shift.
Essential Skills & Experience: The specific competencies required for job performance, examples:
• Time management; Ability to work in a fast paced environment and successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously with little or no supervision
• Commitment to company values
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to read, use simple math and use hand held measuring tools
• Emergency Mill Rescue Training
• Good organizational skills.
• Operator’s Permit for Powered Industrial Trucks
• High School Graduate / GED
• Fork Lift License required

• Basic Computer Skills
Physical Demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Stand; lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly; bend and lift; use various hand tools including but not limited to pliers, screwdrivers and mill knives; Lift pigs and twist to place and a table; Use hands to mill, change dies, load, pull raw material apart; Walk short distances from mills to barwells while carrying 40-100 lb pigs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision to be able to read small print on travel tickets and preform batch tickets.
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, most notably heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
• Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, hearing protection and steele toe shoes must be worn at all times. Gloves must be worn during milling operation.
General sign off: The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
