    About the Role

     

    Beacon is looking for a bold, strategic, and purpose-driven Vice President of Business Development to lead our next phase of growth. From paratransit and NEMT to school bus and specialized mobility services, Beacon is redefining what it means to connect people to the moments that matter. You’ll be at the forefront — identifying new markets, securing partnerships, and driving the commercial strategy.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    Drive Growth & Expansion

     

    - Build and execute scalable strategies that expand Beacon’s reach across paratransit, NEMT, Shuttle, Motorcoach, and school transportation markets. - Identify untapped opportunities and translate market insights into actionable growth plans. - Lead regional and national expansion efforts in partnership with operations and marketing teams.

     

    Build Partnerships That Matter

     

    - Forge long-term relationships with public agencies, healthcare networks, school districts, and private partners. - Negotiate complex, high-value contracts that advance both business and community goals. - Represent Beacon as a trusted voice in mobility innovation and accessibility.

     

    Shape the Market

     

    - Stay ahead of industry shifts — from policy changes to emerging mobility technologies. - Translate insights into new service models, pilot programs, and community partnerships. - Champion innovation that enhances reliability, inclusivity, and rider experience.

     

    Lead with Accountability

     

    - Set and monitor KPIs that drive revenue, market share, and partnership success. - Report key insights and performance trends to the executive team and board. - Build a high-performing business development culture grounded in collaboration and results.

     

    You’ll Know You’re a Fit If You…

     

    - Have 10+ years of experience leading business development in transportation or related industries. - Thrive on building partnerships that blend commercial success with social and community impact. - Are an expert negotiator and strategic thinker with strong financial acumen when analyzing deals. - Lead with empathy, energy, and an unwavering focus on purpose.

     

    How You’ll Measure Success

     

    - New revenue channels and market expansions launched - High-value contracts secured with public and private partners (We are looking to add $25M in revenue growth and $5-6M in EBITDA this year.) - Growth in qualified pipeline opportunities and close rates - Str ong customer retention: 99% target - Cross-functional alignment that turns strategy into execution
