    Job Title: CAD Drafter

    Job Description

    This role involves providing support to engineers on technical projects and products. The position requires collecting, maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data. Responsibilities include creating, building, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes, as well as preparing engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics. The role involves performing mathematical calculations as per engineering specifications and analyzing data according to provided guidelines. This entry-level position is designed for individuals to learn job skills and company policies to complete assignments effectively.

    Responsibilities

    + Support engineers on technical projects and products.

    + Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data.

    + Create, build, assemble, modify, and repair prototypes.

    + Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics.

    + Perform mathematical calculations per engineering specifications.

    + Analyze data following provided guidelines.

    + Recommend alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.

    + Set up and conduct tests, recording data for engineering analysis.

    + Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and third-party owners for joint-owned poles.

    + Review work provided by the client and assess requirements of scopes.

    + Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all engineering and construction standards are met.

    + Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.

    Essential Skills

    + High School diploma or equivalent and 4-6 years of related experience.

    + Associate's degree in a related discipline and 2+ years of related experience.

    + Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience.

    + Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

    + Power/Utilities experience.

    + Previous experience with field data collection.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Willingness to perform office work.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Work Environment

    This position requires performing office work, where you will interact daily with supervisors and functional peer groups, exchanging or presenting factual information. The role involves following standard practices and procedures under close supervision to perform routine scientific and engineering tasks.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
