    Project Management Lead – Energy Programs

    About the Position

    A leading NYC-based initiative focused on building energy improvements is hiring a Project Management Lead to oversee a team that helps property owners and managers navigate upgrade projects. The role centers on delivering exceptional support across audits, financing, and construction while ensuring the program operates smoothly, equitably, and with measurable impact.

    What You’ll Do

    + Oversee and coach a team of project managers responsible for guiding buildings through the full retrofit journey.

    + Establish clear processes, service standards, and performance metrics to keep projects moving efficiently.

    + Maintain visibility into all project activity using CRM and tracking tools (Salesforce experience a plus).

    + Identify barriers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that buildings needing extra assistance receive timely support.

    + Act as a senior resource for escalations, complex cases, and high-priority stakeholders.

    + Partner with technical specialists, contractor groups, community partners, and workforce teams to coordinate services.

    + Build training materials and deliver ongoing coaching focused on communication, customer service, and energy fundamentals.

    + Perform periodic reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with program guidelines and industry best practices.

    + Recommend improvements to workflows, customer engagement strategies, and overall service delivery.

    + Host internal workshops and learning sessions to strengthen staff and contractor capabilities.

    + Cultivate an inclusive team atmosphere centered on collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.

    + Manage both internal team members and subcontracted staff aligned with program delivery.

    What We’re Looking For

    + Bachelor’s degree required; fields related to sustainability, engineering, construction, or program management are helpful.

    + 7+ years of experience in client-facing work, project coordination, or program management.

    + Demonstrated leadership managing teams with varied backgrounds and caseloads.

    + Familiarity with NYC’s building landscape and common retrofit pathways strongly preferred.

    + Working knowledge of energy efficiency concepts, building systems, or construction trades is beneficial.

    + Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

    + Experience serving NYC communities; multilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

    + Commitment to equitable outcomes and accessible service delivery.

    + Prior involvement in designing processes, tracking program metrics, and managing partnerships.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and project management tools.

    + Awareness of energy policies, incentives, and relevant regulations at the city, state, or federal level.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of NEW YORK, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
