Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

The dimensional engineer is responsible for managing vehicle fit and finish based on key process metrics from customer feedback, including GCA & A/B/C/FVS metrics. This role requires effective communication with production, maintenance, suppliers, and the shop committee. The work involves a significant amount of initiative in decision-making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.

Responsibilities

+ Manage vehicle fit and finish based on key process metrics from customer feedback.

+ Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, suppliers, and the shop committee.

+ Exercise initiative in decision-making and demonstrate independent judgment.

Essential Skills

+ Expertise in GD&T and understanding of datum strategies.

+ Strong background in fabrication processes and quality assurance.

+ Knowledge of PFMEA, metrology, scanning, and metrology software.

+ Experience with vision systems and tool design.

+ Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Background in dimensional, manufacturing, statistical, or mechanical engineering.

+ Experience in body shops and general assembly build strategies.

Work Environment

The position is located in a dynamic manufacturing environment in Wentzville. The role involves working in both production/manufacturing environments (75%) and engineering offices (25%). The candidate must be flexible with shifts, as they will work Monday through Saturday, with some Sundays. Initially, the role will likely be on day shift, with the potential to move to an off-shift. Shift hours are as follows: 1st shift from 5:30 AM to 3 PM, 2nd shift from 1:30 PM to 11 PM, and 3rd shift from 9:30 PM to 7 AM. This role is part of the body shop group and requires the wearing of PPE at all times, including safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and arm covers. The environment is highly automated, with robotic welding equipment, providing numerous opportunities for career advancement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
