**POSITION PERFORMANCE PLAN** _–_ Head Tennis Professional
**Position Summary** : This position is responsible for the instruction of adult and youth lessons. This position is also responsible for the professional oversight of staff and tennis instruction development.

**Team Relationships** Coached by: Administrative Manager, Racquet Sports
Position Performance Area/Expectations:
+ To provide members and guests with high quality professional instruction that focuses on learning, safety, and enjoyment.
+ Adhere to the Healthplex and RCMC policies and procedures and code of conduct.
+ Meet regularly with Administrative Manager, Racquet Sports, to review and provide solutions to achieve tennis program goals and objectives, including but not limited to annual budget, staff engagement and member satisfaction.
+ Evaluate tennis staff performance through regular on-court observations, assessing instructional techniques, playing ability, and overall professionalism.
+ Assists with the hiring of new professional tennis staff through the assessment of their professional/play skills.
+ Assist Administrative Manager with addressing staff and player professional/play concerns, questions, and complaints.
+ Assist with coordination of group lesson, tennis leagues and private lessons as needed.
+ Serve as a liaison between the Healthplex and the community it serves.
+ Support special events and tournaments as needed.
+ Ensure court appearance and surrounding areas are presentable.
+ Support Tennis Department in achieving performance goals and budgetary targets.
**Position Requirements** :
+ Education: High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree level of education is preferred
+ Certifications:
+ Maintain at least one nationally recognized certification in the tennis industry
+ USTA Safeplay certified
+ American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED certification
+ Special Skills:
+ Serve Tennis and Universal Tennis Rating (preferred)
+ Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
+ Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
+ Experience:
+ 15+ years of tennis lesson/instruction experience
+ Other:
+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
+ Understand and be able to adhere to a financial budget
+ Computer knowledge with regards to Club Automation (preferred)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Customer service-oriented and able to relate to all levels of staff.
+ Ability to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends if needed to ensure center goals are met.
