    Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

     

    The primary role of an Electrical Engineer is to design, develop, test, or oversee the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific applications. This position requires a professional capable of making engineering drawings and interpreting blueprints.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.

    + Review and approve the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of design models.

    + Discuss time and cost estimates for project completion with clients.

    + Supervise simulation and testing of machine, structure, or system operations and monitor product quality.

    + Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.

    + Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

    + Mentor and coach team members to enhance their engineering capabilities.

    + Utilize CREO for designing all electrical aspects of powertrain and component test systems.

    + Utilize CREO Simulate to analyze designs for optimized durability and cost.

    + Conduct or oversee formal design reviews.

    + Perform needed analysis and initiate innovative ideas.

    + Lead problem resolution and cost reduction activities.

    + Create and check detailed prints for production.

    + Obtain quotes, choose suppliers, and submit orders for components and systems.

    + Manage projects with suppliers to meet quality, velocity, and cost targets.

    + Support the assembly and build process of test systems.

    + Perform risk and safety assessments (DFMEA, Safety Walks, Lock-Out Tag-Out).

    + Create and update standards and processes for the team.

    + Travel up to 10% to product group customers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering.

    + 1-5 years of experience in the field.

    + Electrical engineering and design knowledge, requiring an EE degree.

    + Proficiency in CAD/CREO modeling (AutoCAD experience is acceptable).

    + Hands-on experience and a willingness to learn.

    + Advanced ability to perform detailed calculations and establish standards and specifications.

    + Advanced skills in making sketches and engineering drawings.

    + Advanced application of electrical theory principles to engineering projects.

    + Experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and analytical and problem-solving ability.

    + Team player and detail-oriented.

    + Strong leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

    + Attributes of a critical thinker with innovative ideas.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a Tech Center, which includes a lab and office environment. The role involves collaboration with mechanics, electricians, and engineers, providing a wide breadth of experience.

    This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
