Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator who possesses a working knowledge and experience with labeler operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at monitoring for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime due to error. This role involves performing filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently, making necessary adjustments to filler timing and filling, and preparing equipment for the next run, including size changes as needed. The Machine Operator will analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput and troubleshoot issues. Additionally, monitoring weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products is crucial, as well as preparing case labels and reviewing product labels for accuracy.
Responsibilities
+ Operate labelers and monitor for jams, ensuring efficient threading to minimize downtime.
+ Perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently.
+ Adjust filler timing and filling as needed.
+ Prepare equipment for next runs, including necessary size changes.
+ Analyze process and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput.
+ Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products.
+ Prepare case labels and review product labels for accuracy.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of machine operating experience
+ 6+ months of tape measure experience
+ 6+ months of computer operation experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with cars or other equipment is beneficial.
+ Mechanically inclined and familiar with hand tools.
+ Experience in blending, packaging, or inspection is a plus.

Work Environment
You will be working in a manufacturing and production environment that may involve exposure to high/precarious places, moving machinery, and marked changes in temperature and humidity. The environment can be loud with dust, odors, and fumes. Those in Blending will work outdoors year-round, climb on railcars, and attach hoses, which is very physical. Packaging roles are indoors, with high temperatures in summer and normal temperatures in winter. Responsibilities include inspecting machines, making minor adjustments, and performing lockout/tagout procedures. The team size is about 90 people per shift, and the dress code includes shorts or jeans, a clean work shirt, and steel toe (or composite) shoes. Shifts include A/B (6:45 am-6:45 pm), C/D (6:45 pm-6:45 am), Days (6:30 am-3 pm Mon-Fri), Nights (10:30 pm-7 am Sun-Thurs), and Mids (2:30 pm-11 pm Mon-Fri), with applicable shift differentials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Council Bluffs, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
