Job Title: Composite/Door Mechanic
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Composite/Door Mechanic where you will complete assembly according to process specifications and blueprints for sheet metal parts. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and precision of our production line, ensuring that each component meets our exacting standards.
Responsibilities
+ Verify tooling is correct and load details into tools.
+ Use drill bushings and drill blocks for precise drilling.
+ Load details into jig for drilling and ream close tolerance holes.
+ Inspect close tolerance holes and prepare for sealing.
+ Apply appropriate sealant and cleco the sealed assembly together.
+ Install fasteners and remove excess sealant from assembly.
+ Call for final inspection and fill out paperwork per work order.
+ Seek guidance and direction as necessary for performance duties.
+ Keep supervisor informed about work status and potential problems.
+ Report to work on time and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
+ Respect company, customer, and personnel confidentiality.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Blueprint reading class required.
+ 1 year of experience in rivet/sheet metal and composite assembly preferred.
+ 1-year experience in close tolerance drilling in composite and metallic sub-structures.
+ Proficiency in sealing techniques and applicable measurement instruments.
+ Familiarity with aesthetic assembly and basic shop math skills.
+ Strong attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Interior experience preferred.
+ Experience with installation of bushings and bearings.
+ Manufacturing experience preferred.
+ Ability to understand and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Work Environment
Work in a conditioned and heated plant where safety is a top priority. Required protective equipment includes safety goggles, anti-vibration and cut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour shifts starting at either 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM, and Fridays reserved for overtime. The role involves production and assembly, specifically as a supplier of windows and sub-assemblies for other areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
