Summary:
Shares as a team member under the leadership and in collaboration with the Manager, Invasive Interventional Services which consists of: cardiac catheterization lab, neuro endovascular procedures electrophysiology Interventional peripheral/radiology procedures and structural heart procedures, mercy interventional unit(pre and post recovery and overnight patients), the accountability for the 24 hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance and regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected area of responsibility and the health care institution as a whole.
Responsibilities:
Educational Requirements
+ Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
+ Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing required, or must be actively enrolled in BSN program with completion within 3 years of assignment
+ Current RN licensure in the State of New York
+ Current BLS certification
+ Current ACLS certification or completion of course within six (6) months of assignment
+ Nationally recognized Nursing Certification obtainment within two years required
Experience Requirements
+ Two (2) years of critical care nursing experience preferred
Or
+ Previous experience in Cardiac Catherization Lab, interventional radiology and/or neurology, electrophysiology.
Or
+ Charge nurse, managerial, or supervisory experience with 2 years cardiac telemetry/ stepdown unit experience.

+ Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of program personnel, as well as physicians, families, visitors and to manage the activities of a diverse group of professional, nonprofessional and clerical employees.
+ Possesses active listening skills.
+ Planning skills to develop goals and objectives in concert with those of the hospital and implements action plans to meet those goals.
+ Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvements as well as positive problem resolution.
+ Teaching abilities to promote optimum orientation and continuing education of staff.
+ Budgeting skills to control fiscal operations of selected unit(s) and /or area(s) of responsibility and to identify and explain variances.
+ Has current knowledge of health care trends and issues and relates same to hospital and work area environment.
+ Organization skills
+ Ability to multitask and be flexible
+ Able to coach, mentor and lead change in the Invasive Interventional Services and MIU
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
