Job Title: 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice
Job Description
Under close supervision, the 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice assists in the testing and maintenance of site/field equipment, as well as the installation, rearrangement, and removal of equipment and associated wiring at customer sites or company locations. The role involves aiding in the testing, moving, repairing, and adjustment of equipment issues related to trouble reports and performing routine testing. The apprentice also participates in field construction inspection and testing to ensure compliance with applicable NETA specifications, plans, and sound construction practices.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the testing and maintenance of site/field equipment and associated wiring.
+ Support the testing, moving, repair, and adjustment of equipment problems related to trouble reports.
+ Participate in field construction inspection and testing to ensure compliance with NETA specifications.
+ Prepare equipment for testing under the direction of the commissioning lead.
+ Assist the commissioning lead in the operation of load banks and equipment with proper PPE.
+ Report testing activities and status updates to the Lead Test Technician for scheduling purposes.
+ Prepare inspection activity reports or maintain record checklists on performed inspection activities.
Essential Skills
+ Basic knowledge of test instruments
+ Good knowledge of computer use, IPad use, live data entry, and barcode scanning
+ Ability to wear proper PPE, including Arc Flash Suit
+ Ability to work at heights
+ Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, with team lifting required for heavier loads
+ Ability to stand for long periods
+ Proficient communication in English
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-3 years of experience with a High School diploma
+ 3rd year apprentice or higher
+ Electrical, conduit, wire pulling, installation, construction, wiring, and blueprint skills

Work Environment
The work environment is a pre-fab setting with heating but no air conditioning. Work is scheduled for five days a week, including four 10-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift, totaling a minimum of 48 hours. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4 PM, and Friday from 5:30 AM to 2 PM. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required includes steel-toed boots, a hard hat, a safety vest, and safety glasses. Steel-toed boots must be provided by the contractor, while all other PPE is supplied during orientation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $45.00/hr.
